Stampin' Up! FABRIC!

When I found out that Stampin' Up! was going to be carrying not one but TWO beautiful lines of fabric, I was so excited! I couldn't wait to play! Here is one of my favourite fabric projects so far!

I made this little gem for my niece, Hanna, for Christmas using the Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric, Real Red grosgrain ribbon (5/8" and 1/4"), and the Fire Circle Rhinestone brads. The base of the ornament is a 3" styrofoam ball, and the fabric is pinned to it with tiny dressmaker's pins (hidden in the folds). It took a couple of hours from start to finish, but I love how it turned out!

What I really wanted for this card was a bit of the new Raven 1/2" Lace Trim (Holiday Mini) to put under the right side of the web panel - somehow it escaped my preorder, but I'll get you, my pretty! :)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

Well, okay, the sun is still shining (some days!), and the temperature is still above the 0 mark, but in my STUDIO it is beginning to look like Christmas! I'm madly planning, preparing, and organizing for upcoming Christmas workshops, classes, and stamp camps to help make the holidays a little easier on you! :) Here's what's coming:

This beauty was inspired by a card by Ilina Crouse - I love the vintage style and hip colour combination! I tweaked the colours just a bit using my Color Coach, pulling in the Pear Pizzazz for some punch :) This card features a new punch and stamp set that will be available in the Holiday Mini Catalogue on September 1!

Stamp for the Cure!

I'm really excited to share this card with you, because it represents a cause that means a lot to me.

My grandmother passed away at the very young age of 55 from breast cancer, and I will be participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure to raise funds for cancer research. My grandma was the one who got me started on my crafting journey, teaching me to sew, needle point, and quilt, and I am so proud and grateful to be able to use my papercrafting to remember her this way!

Here is a card I have created to give to anyone who makes a donation to my Run for the Cure:

I hope to make a lot of these! :)

In addition, I will be hosting a fundraiser on September 28 and 29 - we will be making 5 cards for $20. If you are unable to attend, I will even assemble your cards for you and mail them to you at no additional cost! :) To register, simply click on the "Contact Me" button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Edmonton Extravaganza!!!

I love to swap! It is one of my favourite things about being a demonstrator - we swap every time we get together! It gives me a never-ending stream of ideas and samples to show off!

Recently I had the opportunity to head out to Edmonton with my BFF (hi Allise!) for the final Workshop of a Lifetime with SHELLI! Yes! THE SHELLI! While I didn't actually attend the workshop, I was privileged to attend a brunch with Shelli and about 25 other demonstrators as well as an Extravaganza with my team from Edmonton, including my sister, my cousin, my aunt, and many fabulous friends!

The highlight, of course, was getting to meet Shelli and have a photo taken (minus standing in a three-hour line up, as at Regionals or Convention!):

Fun :)

So, back to the swapping thing...here is one of the swaps I took with me to Edmonton:

This card was an evolution, inspired by Lisa Young's card - I actually did CASE her original card for a class, but then I wanted to change up the layout a bit, so I kept the original colour combination (from the Colour Coach) and stamp set, and then just kind of let my mojo take over :)
